Line of Duty Death Memorial
The fire service strives to make the job of protecting lives and property as safe as possible. Unfortunately, firefighting is still a very dangerous job despite the advances in technology. The National Fire Academy in Emmitsburg, Maryland is the site of the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial that pays respect to all the firefighters killed protecting the public. More information can be found at http://www.firehero.org/memorialpark/memorial/.
Sadly, the topic of fallen firefighters is also one that the West Bradford Fire Company is familiar with. Everet Russel was a member of the fire company who was killed while responding to the fire house to answer an alarm. Please remember when you see a fire truck go past that this job is still very dangerous, and that the worst can still happen, even in our community.
