Firefighting Staff of the West Bradford Fire Company

The Firefighters of the West Bradford Fire Company stand ready to answer your call for help 24/7.  We are all volunteers, meaning that after helping the public on-scene at emergency incidents, we then must resume our own lives of work, family, school, and chores.

Firefighters undergo extensive training throughout their unpaid, yet proffessional, careers.  This is recognized at the West Bradford Fire Company by their ranks.  Senior Firefighters have undergone and passed a 188 hour intensive "Firefighter 1" program. Many of our firefighters continue on to achieve national certification for this course after they acheieve their PA State certification.  This training, along with an in-house challenge to test a firefighter's skills, allows them to assume interior firefighting duties on the fire ground.  These duties include being able to enter a building fire to perform fire suppression operations from the inside.  Apprentice and Junior Firefighters have not completed this training yet and are kept to staff the many operational support and exterior firefighting roles on the fire ground.

Although the West Bradford Fire Company does not currently have an EMS division, some of our firefighers have decided to undergo 150 to 200 hours of training to become an emergency medical technician.
