I had the opportunity to be invited to the West Bradford Elementary School, a place that I attended a long time ago, for an assembly that focused on "Bullying" this program is based on the "Olweus Bully Prevention Program" (OBPP), while we hear about this action on a daily basis, I believe that at this particular school that will not be the case. I was among several officials that were invited, including, Pat McGlone, Director of Public Relations and Development at DASD; Tommy Ryan, West Bradford Township Manager; Trooper Pennington, Pennsylvania State Police and Mayor Josh Maxwell, Borough of Downingtown. When I arrived, I was greeted with a large amount of enthusiasm by the staff, upon entering the multi-purpose room they began playing "We are Family", shortly after I was seated the students, staff and teachers started filing in, and I must admit that this was very happy moment for all involved, as it was very obvious that this is a large extended family of caring children and adults, and I can attest that the song was appropriate. The assembly lasted about 30 minutes and through the event the students were very involved and knowledgeable about the program. I would like to congratulate the staff and students at the school for taking the time to present this program and express my sincere appreciation for allowing me to be involved. The picture you see here is the pledge that the students and staff took during the program.
