Friday during the frigid cold WBFC handled 3 alarms within a five hour time frame. The first incident reported an accident with entrapment involving an overturned trash truck on Strasburg road east of Marshallton Village. Units arrived to find a single trash truck overturned with the occupants still inside, PSPE and GFAC were able to remove the occupants by removing the front windshield. WBFC crews controlled the leaking fluids, while fire police closed Strasburg Road. GFAC EMS transported the injured to area hospitals. Flings Towing arrived shortly after and the scene was turned over to them for returning the vehicle to its wheels. Fire Police remained on scene until Penn DOT arrived with road closures devices. The second incident involved a Carbon Monoxide alarm in Newlin Twp and crews arrived on location to find a HVAC company performing service and testing the alarm system, crews checked the dwelling with meters and found no issue, units cleared. Shortly after, the third call came in to assist Minquas EMS with lifting assistance, units made the response and cleared after assisting our EMS partners.
